Music Education Senior Research Project:

ABSTRACT

Musical theatre has become an increasingly popular co-curricular and extracurricular musical activity for students in the K-12 music education experience, most commonly at the high school level.

In order to examine what effect musical theatre participation has on adolescent development, I conducted a research study to analyze student perceptions of musical theatre. 

In my study, I found that student perceptions of musical theatre participation in school were overwhelmingly positive, yielding averages of 7 or higher on a 10-point scale.
